Description

The Academic National Drama Theatre in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, is an important cultural centre of the region.

The theatre building, designed by architects G. Ali-zade and M. Madatov, was erected in 1960. In 1962, a monument to the outstanding poet Fizuli was erected in front of the theatre, which gives the place special significance and historical value. In 2010-2011, the theatre underwent major renovations, and on 10 March 2011, its grand opening took place after restoration, which updated the infrastructure and increased comfort for spectators.

The theatre offers a diverse repertoire, which includes classical and modern productions reflecting the rich cultural tradition of Azerbaijan. The schedule and playbill of performances can be viewed on our website, where you can also buy tickets.

By visiting the Academic National Drama Theater, you will be able to enjoy the high art of the dramatic genre in an environment that combines modernity and historical heritage.
