Azerbaijan State Puppet Theatre

The Azerbaijan State Puppet Theater named after Abdulla Shaig, located in Baku, is a cultural center with a rich history. The theater building, erected in 1910 by the Polish engineer Joseph Ploszko, initially served as the Phenomenon cinema. In the following years, it underwent a number of changes and restorations, including under the supervision of the architect Zivar bey Akhmedbeyov. The theater was founded in 1931 by Molla Agha Babirli, and since then it has become an integral part of the cultural life of the city.

The theater has two departments: Azerbaijani and Russian, and offers a variety of performances for both children and adults.
