Description
The palace, which is located in the center of the capital of Azerbaijan. It served as a symbol of important events and great leaders of its time.
In 1991, a decision was made to rename the palace, and from that moment on it began to bear the name “Palace of the Republic”. This was a period of change in the country, and the palace became the venue for a variety of cultural and political events.
An important turn occurred in 2004, when Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree renaming the palace in honor of his father, Heydar Aliyev. The palace began to be called “Palace named after Heydar Aliyev,” which reflected respect and recognition of his father’s services to the country.
In 2007-2008, the palace underwent extensive reconstruction, as a result of which it received modern equipment and a stylish appearance. On October 16, 2008, the grand opening of the renovated palace took place, and a few days later, on October 24, the inauguration of President Ilham Aliyev took place there.
But the official celebration on the occasion of the reconstruction and opening of the “Heydar Aliyev Palace” happened on November 5-6, 2008 with a grandiose concert by People's Artist of the USSR Zeinab Khanlarova. It was an amazing event that united many guests and residents of the country in getting to know the renovated beautiful palace, which has become an iconic place in the history of Azerbaijan. Since then, the "Palace named after Heydar Aliyev" became a venue for important events and meetings, continuing to serve as the center of cultural and political events in the country.
