In September, Azerbaijan will become a venue for the 17th stage of Formula-1

These auto -renegles, which began in Baku in 2017, have long won the status of one of the most anticipated events in the sports life of the year. At the upcoming stage, the fans will see in the action of such talented racers as Max Fersstappen, Lando Norris, Oscar Piaste, Charles Lecler and Lewis Hamilton. Last year, on September 15, 2024, Oscar Piastus, playing for the McLaren team, won on this highway. This victory was the second for him in his career. Before coming to Formula 1, Piaste won the titles in Formula-2 and Formula 3, and in 2023 he debuted as part of McLaren. At the age of 21, he began his career in Bahrain, despite competition for his contract between Alpine and McLaren. In his debut season, he went to the podium twice and first won the Hungary of Hungary in 2024, becoming the first winner born after 2000. His success in Azerbaijan only confirmed his status of one of the most promising Formula 1 pilots.

The track in Baku is famous for its complex design, which becomes a serious test even for experienced racer. Narrow streets, steep turns and long straight lines require exceptional speed from cars, and from pilots - maximum concentration and courage. Between the races, spectators will be able to enjoy the atmosphere of Baku, a city with a rich history, unique cuisine and friendly inhabitants. On the highway there are two main stands: “Apheron” and “Icery Sheher”. The first allows you to see how machines are inhibited at a speed of about 350 km/h in the 90-degree first turn, and the second opens a magnificent view of the carriers passing through the city gates and developing high speed in corners 13–15.
