In September, Azerbaijan will host the 17th stage of Formula 1!

The 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix promises to be a highlight of the Formula 1 calendar. Traditionally, the race is held on a unique city circuit in Baku. The competition was first held here in 2017 under the name of the European Grand Prix, and was later renamed. The track is distinguished by its unusual configuration: long straights alternate with tight and winding turns of the old city, which presents a serious challenge for the drivers and their teams. They will strive for the perfect combination of speed on the straights and agility in the corners, which requires careful set-up of the cars. Baku City Circuit is considered one of the most extreme tracks: it is fast and narrow at the same time, which forces the drivers to take risks. The route passes through the historical center of Baku, skirting the medieval walls of Icheri Sheher, where the drivers have to maneuver in difficult turns with minimal chances of overtaking and a high probability of colliding with the wall. As well as the exciting racing, the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be a showcase for the latest advances in automotive technology.

Six different drivers have won at the track: Nico Rosberg, Daniel Ricciardo, Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas, Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen. The only two-time winner is Sergio Perez, who won here in 2021 and 2023. He will be looking to win at Baku City Circuit again this year, especially given his new contract with Red Bull that runs until the end of the 2026 season.

Sergio Perez is a Mexican Formula One driver for Red Bull Racing. He has previously driven for Sauber, McLaren, Force India and Racing Point. He won his first Formula 1 victory at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix after a record 190 starts without a win. He took his first pole position at the 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after a record 215 races. During his career, Perez has proven himself to be a reliable driver, capable of bringing points to the team even in difficult conditions. His strengths are his ability to manage tyres and make tactically sound decisions, which allows him to achieve high positions even after unsuccessful starts. The move to Red Bull Racing in 2021 was a key moment in his career: he got the opportunity to fight for the highest honors with one of the strongest teams in the championship and support Max Verstappen in the fight for the title.

In addition, guests of the race can expect performances from world-class celebrities. Anyma, the solo project of Italian electronic music producer Matteo Milleri, will perform at the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Milleri is known for his unique style, combining melodies with cinematic visuals to create an immersive multi-sensory show. His shows are not just DJ sets, but full-fledged performances with carefully crafted sound and visual elements for maximum impact.
